Checkerspot Rigid PU Foam 1094 was developed for outdoor recreation products as a lightweight replacement core material with high compressive strength. Potential applications include board cores for snow- and watersports. The material is self-skinning, can be cast, and has excellent machinability.

This two-component polyurethane rigid foam system is formulated with 42% biobased content (ASTM D6866). Gel time is 1 min 33 s and tack free at 5 min 17 s. The free rise density of the unpigmented material is 7 lb/ft3 (111 kg/m3), and the molded density is 11 lb/ft3 (170 kg/m3).
